My very first post!

Welcome!  Growing up I was an extremelyyy picky eater!  At around the age of 7 I decided I wanted to be a vegetarian.  At the time, I didn't know anyone else who didn't eat meat, but I knew I didn't like how any of it tasted.  Also, the thought of eating animals made me sick!!  It wasn't until I was older that I found out there is alotttt of delicious vegetarian food, I just didn't know it!  I often cook meat dishes for my boyfriend but to this day I am still a vegetarian and don't plan on ever changing!

The title of my blog, 3pm Sunday Dinner, is a tribute to a memory of my childhood.  Every Sunday my large family of aunts, uncles and cousins would gather at my grandparent's house for an early afternoon Italian dinner.  I don't think I will ever forget the smell of sauce cooking in the house..yummm!  Food really brings people together and builds lasting memories….I think that's why i love to cook & bake so much (baking is my specialty though!)  I not only enjoy it, but I just love when others enjoy eating what I've made!  As a small start, here are some photos of cakes I made over the past year.  Enjoy!

Dad's birthday cake- Pistachio cake with pistachio icing, covered in fondant

Sister's birthday cake-this was a multi-layer rainbow cookie cake with seedless red raspberry jam between the layers & a light coating of vanilla butter cream, covered in fondant

Mom's birthday cake-simple yellow cake with vanilla frosting, covered in fondant

boyfriend's poker chip birthday cake-just a small dark chocolate cake with caramel frosting…poker chips were made with vanilla fondant..all letters were made with white chocolate

  2. You are good! These are fabulous cakes. You could go into catering, if you are not already there.

Congratulations on your new blog. I hope to keep popping in to see how you are doing and to particularly check your baking (meaning sugar cookies up - not only these beauties),
